11/09/2026 Botanical Printing Silk Scarf Workshop 10-1

Botanical printing (also called eco-printing) is an exciting natural dyeing process where the pigments, shapes, and tannins of leaves, flowers, and stems are transferred directly onto paper or fabric. The steaming process achieves colorful permanent prints, creating one-of-a-kind pieces.

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of the technique while creating your own one of a kind silk scarf!

All supplies are included in the registration price.

Botanical printing workshop:

• We will provide all plants, silk scarves, and supplies 
• Students will go home with a unique 100% silk scarf (53” x 17”) printed with real plants
• Students will learn about different groups of plants, how they print & fabrics that can be used for botanical printing
• They will learn how to make a “bundle” of plants
• We will steam the bundles for 1 hour and then appreciate the final prints

About Katya
Katya Lebrija, is an award winning mixed media artist born in Mexico City. 

Throughout her carrier she has used different mediums on canvas, wood and paper, and now she is exploring printing botanicals on fabric. Which stimulates her creativity in many new ways. “I am very passionate about this new creative trajectory in my artistic journey.”

Each printed piece is one of a kind, filled with textures and natural colors that will endure for life.
